Tune-up your Immune System

Our body's ability to heal itself depends on its ability to function properly. We do not need to boost our immune system. We need to restore it to its original, efficient, capabilities. Most of use are born with the ability to fight off viruses, repell disease, and heal itself. Over time, toxins, pollutants, fat, fatigue, stress, and over-work all degenerate our immune system. It stops working.

Instead of healing our immune system, we try to boost it. We take supplements meant to 'kick start' our system - but it doesn't work that way. First, we must heal our immune system. Then, if we still need it - we can boost its effectiveness.

Top 7 Tips to Laugh Hard and Often to Tune-up your Immune System

Our mood and attitude have a tremendous bearing on the function of our immune system. When we are happy and up, our immune system functions much better. Conversely, when we are depressed, our immune system tends to be depressed. Laughter and other positive emotional states can in fact enhance the immune system. In addition, the use of guided imagery, hypnosis, and other meditative states have been shown to enhance the immune system function. Obviously, if you want to have a healthy immune system, you need to laugh often, view life with a positive eye, and put yourself in a relaxed state of mind on a regular basis. By laughing frequently and taking a lighter view of life, you will find that life is much more enjoyable and fun. Here are some tips to help you get more laughter in your life.

1. Play With Kids

Kids really know how to laugh and play. If you do not have kids of your own, spend time with your nieces and nephews, or with neighbourhood children with whose families you are friendly. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister. Investigate local Little Leagues. Help out at your church’s Sunday school and children’s events.

2. Listen To Comedy Audiotapes In Your Car While Commuting

Check your local record store, bookstore, video store, or library for recorded comedy routines of your favourite comic. If you have not heard or seen many comics, go to your library first. You will find an abundance of tapes to investigate, and you can check with them out for free.

3. Go To Comedies At The Movie Theatre

Go for those movies that are full of comedies. If you see a funny movie together with your friends, you will find yourself laughing harder and longer than if you had seen the same scene by yourself. You and your friends feed off each other’s laughter during and after the movie. Laughing together helps build relationships.

4. Learn To Laugh At Yourself

Recognize how funny some of your behaviour really is, especially your shortcomings or mistakes. We all have little idiosyncrasies or behaviours that are unique to us that we can recognize and enjoy. Do not take yourself too seriously.

5. Inject Humor Anytime It Is Appropriate

People love to laugh. Get a joke book and learn how to tell a good joke. Humor and laughter really make life enjoyable.

6. Watch Comedies On Television

With modern cable systems, you will be amazed at how easy it is to find something funny on television. When I am in need of a good laugh, I try to find something I can laugh at on TV. Some of my favourites are the old-time classics like The Andy Griffth Show, Gilligan’s Island, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and so on.

7. Read The Comics To Locate A Comic That You Find Funny And Follow It

Humor is very individual. What I may find funny, you may not, but the comics have something for everybody. Read them thoroughly to identify a comic strip that you think is particularly funny and look for it every day or week.
